Olympics 2012

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are being held in London.  Contracts for the Games are expected to be worth more than £6 billion in 75,000 different awards.  The government has set an objective that 40% of this business should go to SME’s.  In addition, the 205 national teams and millions of overseas visitors will all need products and services which can be supplied by SME’s.
It’s not all about construction – it will include services, people, catering, transport, souvenirs, packaging, disability provision, and many other things.  Nor is it all London based – many of the events are taking place outside London, and the main contractors which SME’s will be supplying could be anywhere.  And contracts are being awarded now, so don’t wait until 2011 or 2012 to think about it – that will be too late.
The Olympic Development Authority (ODA) is responsible for co-ordinating this massive project.  It has set up a website where companies can bid for contracts.  There is a formal process to go through in order for an SME to qualify for bidding for Olympic business.
Fenbrook Consulting has established a process to help SME’s get qualified and put together winning bids.  This is an opportunity to get extra turnover from a once in a lifetime event.  Contact trevor@fenbrook.com to see how you can take part.
